BATTS was formed at Burnt Mill School in Harlow in 1994, after use of a small church hall became inadequate. In 2005, we had the opportunity to bid for our very own full time centre. Harlow Council had been forced to close The Norman Booth Recreation Centre for budgetary reasons. We prepared a bid and found out in December 2005 that we had been successful. Our new centre opened in June 2006. We regularly host other weekend events e.g. County weekends, tournaments, disabled days and school tournaments. Peniel Academy has helped enormously over the last few years, in providing teams in our singles leagues, and in helping BATTS gain one of their very valued sponsors: Scott Merrick Associates. Our Active Security Group sponsorship was matched by the Government organisation Sportsmatch, and this provided money towards new equipment. BATTS provides a high-class sports venue, which is available for a range of sports. For bookings and othe information contact Neil Brierley at``Email enquiries@normanbooth.org.uk |
