WANG YUE GU WINS BRAZIL OPEN
Seeded one Wang Yue Gu won the Women’s Singles title at the Brazil Open in Belo Horizonte on Sunday 20th April 2008 beating second seed, Singaporean national team colleague, Li Jia Wei in the final.
Wang Yue Gu won 11-1, 6-11, 11-9, 13-11, 11-2.
It was the third Women’s Singles title on the ITTF Pro Tour for Wang Yue Gu, the previous wins both having been in 2006 when she succeeded at the Volkswagen Open Japan and at the Liebherr German.
In the former she defeated China’s Guo Yan in the final, in the latter Li Jia Wei; in Belo Horizonte she repeated the German win.
